Default USB Over Current Notice - Mbox Mini

Hi,

I have the latest Mbox Mini and when I try to use it with a usb port on my Macbook Pro (2.33ghz core 2 duo, 10.5.8,2gb ram) I get a message saying"USB Over Current Notice. A USB device is currently drawing too much power. The hub to which it is attached to will be deactivated.".

I've had previous model mbox and it worked flawlessly with macbook pro.

I can still mix with it plugged into a powered hub but can't record properly.

Is there maybe a firmware upgrade? Is this just the way it is? I've never received this from any USB device I've owned.

Thanks.

Yeah, I tried both sides of the MacBook Pro. Same message about USB Over Current.

Not sure what is going on. Waiting to talk to Avid on the phone.

Ugh!

Hi,

I am having this same problem with my MBox mini 3G.

I was recoding with some friends and on one input I conected a guitar amp line out to the interface. On the other input there was a condenser mic with phantom power.

The guitar amp was wih a power cord protector to one socket on the wall and my computer was conected direct to another socket in another wall.

I dont know if I burn something on the interface but a friend disconected the condenser mic and then it stop working the Mbox mini.

On my house I conected the interface to a usb hub (without power) then I was able to use it for one day. And the second day it broke. It seems that I burn something on the Mbox or I dont know what happend. When I restart the computer the ports work but when I conect the Mbox mini direct to one of the USB port (USB 2) it start to flash all the leds. I conected to a USB 3 and then I get the message about USB over current. I am running Windows.

Did anyone mannage to fix this?

Is there a way to send the MBox Mini for repaird?

Regards,

PiBoy
