Midi editor / split screen

Anyone know how to turn off the midi editor going into split sreen mode?

I.e when i double click on a midi / instrument part in the arrange window it splits the screen from the arrange/editor window with the midi editor page at the bottom.

It used to open the midi editor page in a new window previously.

I most have done something by accident?

I'm using PT8

double-clicking invokes PT's memory) - it just remembers how u last opened midi editor, in split or in window. so just select midi editor from the edit window (li'l drop down arrow upper right), or from the windows menu. next time u 2-click, it will follow ur last preference.
