Default Re-conforming software?

Just like to get some opinions on re-conforming software. I need something which is easy to set up and learn as I am about to start on a feature in post and would like to train up the picture editor, because as we all know, picture editors like to make changes at the 11th hour.

I've heard good things about EdiTrace and Virtual Katy. Although VK does look a bit more complex.

All feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks

As a massive advocate of Virtual Katy as of this moment (April 9th 2012 @9:17 Pacific) VK does not work with Pro Tools 10. Because of this and not knowing which version of PT you are using I'd recommend looking at Editrace carefully. It's web based comparison of EDL's is superb and can be tweaked for just what you need. You can pay by conform required (maybe billable?) or a monthly fee for unlimited conforms.

There is supposed to be a release update of Virtual Katy for PT 10 and Lion very soon. But Since PT 10 comes with PT 9 it's not a big deal. I have two bootable drives so I can conform in PT9 than switch in PT10 when conforming is done. I like VK very much too.

(Shameless self promotion)

My program, Reconformer, (Formerly known as Conformer) has just been updated and now works with Lion and PT10.

I have also added a lot of features people have been requesting that the old CNA was able to do, such as variable list optimization, printing, and pasting deleted clips at the end of the session.

If you need to conform with EDLs, use Conformalizer.
If you conform with change notes in Feet+Frames, try Reconformer.

I'm running a RE-introductory sale until the end of the month for 50%off.

Another Vote for conformalizer.

You can actually create your own change list if needed by comparing old and new video side by side.

Couldn't live without it.

Forgot to mention I was using PT10 in the studio, but have PT9 at home. Didn't know VK was not PT10 compatible yet so thats good to know.

I'll definitely have a look at the other alternatives.

Thanks guys.

A big thumbs up for Conformalizer from me.

Bought it for my current feature and its literally saved me days of time compared to re conforming manually.

I'm using it with PT 10.1.1 on osx 10.7.3

Best money ever spent.

Gives you more time to spend on the interesting parts of mixing.
