Default What is Tab-To-Transient actually doing?

Its name implies that your tabbing to the next transient (max amplitude) -but- it is not tabbing to the PEAK of the next transient. Its tabbing BEFORE the peak. How far before the peak does Tab-To-Transient put the cursor - why? Thanks for help.

Almost no sounds have an instant attack, so going to the highest peak would be cutting off the beginning of the sound. I can't tell you exactly how it works, and we all know it isn't perfect, but it takes this fact into account.

If it moves too soon before the peak, you can often tab backwards to get better results.
