project mix as independent mixer and interface
Interesting title, no?
Is it possible to use the Project mix as a mixer (controlling levels, eq and mutes, for example) while at the same time using it separately as an interface, sending the inputs to PT-M directly after the input gain but before the mutes, fader and eq changes. another way to put this is can i send direct outs (in some fashion)to PT-M while using Project Mix as a "live" mixer? thanks for the help.

a
The Project Mix is not a mixer, it's an integrated control surface and audio interface. It doesn't have any mutes or EQ's built in. All the faders and knobs on the PMIX just send data to control Pro Tools and don't have any direct effect on the signal going into the computer.
