-6042 error on PT9 and how to set pci throttle

Hello dear friends

I have problems on my pro tools HD9.
I used RME fireface800 to be interface before.
And now I just installed HD core card(pcix)
and use 96IO.
However, the eror 6042 happens when I open the session that made before or from other studio.
The session is not so huge.
I only can use 36 voices 1 dsp to run the pro tools.
I found someone said it can be solved by setting pci throttle.
So how can I set the throttle?

I have a very similar issue with a Pro Tools HD|3 Accel (PCI-X) and 192 i/o on my PC. Everytime when I start playing session, I getting an error: "DAE ran out of time while sending audio ower the PCI bus... bla, bla, bla... (-6042)". This occurs with any "voices per DSP" settings in the sessions with 15 or more audio tracks. One except is "48 voices on 3 DSP's". With that settings - all looks fine. PCI bus loading - 10-15%. It happens in a ProTools HD versions from 7.4 to 9.0.6 (Windows XP SP3 Pro 32 bit, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit). Unfortunately, I can't to test TDM 6.x versions, because they provide a BSOD momentary after Pro Tools launching (((.

I was getting the same error attempting to Hackintosh using a Gigabyte motherboard Z68X-UD4-B3-1155. Running a HD Core card, I could only set it to 1 DSP and 32 voices, anything over that & it was error -6042.

I bit the bullet and installed the Jetway motherboard listed in the PCI hack thread, and now i'm able to select 96 voices, 2 DSP chips ... working well without errors.

Not sure of your configuration, but thought i'd share my experience.

never worked for you?
i'm have two systems with
gigabyte GA H55 USB3
working fine,
but i have another
with GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

and error 6042 all time,

Hi,

Have you gone to the playback engine settings and set more voices per DSP chips? like "2 chips/96 voices" as it sounds like your only using 1 DSP chip for voices?
