Will This Hard Drive/Enclosure Work? Need Advice

I'm going to put a hard drive in an external enclosure. Please tell me if this configuration will work and if I could do better performance wise and cost wise. I plan to use it for my Audio Drive and use my current Maxtor One Touch 200gig as my Sample Drive for Reason 3 and RDK 2. Since I only have one firewire port on my laptop I'm going to daisy chain them.

I'll take all the advice I can get!

Hi Jeff-
I have that exact enclosure and it works well with Pro Tools.
One point though, it is constructed in such a way that frequent drive changes are not practical. The pieces snap together like a plastic model kit and some, like the binding trim that surrounds the box, won't stand up to disassembling on a regular basis.

Ooppsss..that drive is Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6V200E0 200GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM ..and the box only supports regular ATA drives !! Careful there..

Can you reccomend a good drive? I'd like to lower my cost (wouldn't everyone) but not for the sake of quality.

Just pick a name brand, like Western Digital, Maxtor, Seagate and select ATA !
I'm in Canada, so pricing is a tad different, but the 80Gb>250Gb drives go for $ 80 > $ 130 roughly.

thats the bytecc case I mentioned in your other post. a better deal on a drive can be had if you can deal with a rebate. compusa has a maxtor 200 gig drive for $59.00 after the rebate.
