Default Izotope kills off Alloy2

For those that didn't get the email from Izotope as of today they are no longer selling Alloy2. They're seeing Neutron as the future of Izotope's mixing products - their words not mine. Glad I got it when I did a few months back.

If you purchased Alloy2 within the past year you'll get support for 12 months after your date of purchase. Nothing mentioned for support for those who purchased it last year or before. They have an upgrade price of $99US until March 30 for Neutron. No thanks.

I have to wonder how long before they kill off Ozone?

Yeah, have to say I'm pretty disappointed with this move. Although I did upgrade to the bundle with Neutron, I prefer the Alloy 2 GUI and I still use it regularly - it's a great 'chuck it on' plugin to sweeten any track (esp. acu guitar & piano) quickly which so far I haven't really found Neutron to be. I guess once I come up with Neutron settings for instrument types it'll sit better in my workflow but certainly for the short term I'll still be using Alloy 2 over Neutron for a channel strip style plugin.

I've really gotten to like the combo of the transient section with the dynamics section. Does Neutron have anything like that? And how are Neutron's eq's versus Alloy2's? Izotope's eq's do something sweet to the audio that I've not heard in others and that includes HOFA IQ-EQ which is my go-to eq for most work.

I love Alloy 2, haven't tried Neutron yet. I have the Music Production Bundle 1, but they want $199 to upgrade to MPB2 but it only gives me Neutron and VocalSynth, I already have the other stuff. People with only one Advanced product can upgrade for the same exact price... waiting for a better deal.

They need to kill off VocalSynth, can't even use it due to high latency & it runs up the memory. Alloy 2, glad I have it, that sucks.

I never used Alloy, to me it was always a part of iZotope's inessential plugins.

After killing off Final Mix a month or so ago I had to switch to Neutron for good. I'm glad I did, and spent the time working it out. The machine learning is great, but also its post utility is awesome - it also has a zero latency feature which i've found to be incredibly handy.

Take the time to learn it.
