Atmos setup issue

Greetings esteemed practitioners of the audio arts! I am having a Dolby Atmos issue that I am hoping the hive mind can help with.


I have a 5.1.4 nearfield setup and am running Atmos Production Suite in a send/return routing scheme with Pro Tools.


In my Room Setup, I can't make it recognise a 5.1.4 setup. When I attempt to leave my horizontal layer with only 5 speakers, I am getting error messages about invalid speakers; when I leave the four rears selected, I get dead spots where the two side speakers should be.


What am I doing wrong?

Isn't the mineral Setup 7.1.2? So seven speakers for the zonal layer?

5.1.4 works fine at my end, in Dolby Atmos Render 3.3. Errors are often thrown if your Speaker setup and Monitoring tabs don't match in the Room Setup window. That would be my first port of call.

- Cmd + M to open the room setup.
- Activate the speakers you want in the speaker setup tab
- Then click the monitoring tab followed by "add monitoring layout", and configure your 5.1.4 speaker arrangement.
