PT11 and MC6.5.4.1 Video Satellite Link working or no?

Anyone got this working?

I've read a bunch of threads on the DUC from last summer expressing problems with the Satellite options on PT11 but also have read in the Readme files that there was a Patch for Media Composer (6.5.4.1) to make it compatible with PT11 in Video Satellite mode, but no recent posts or updates have I been able to find. (was hard enough to find the "patch")

Despite having installed the MC patch (fresh install) I still can't get my PT11 software to recognize the Media Composer Satellite, meanwhile PT 10.3.8 sees it and locks up just fine on the same CPU.

So, is PT11 <-> MC 6.5.4.1 via Video Satellite compatible or not?

So I've found contradictory information trying to figure this question out.

this link (second paragraph, 4th bullet):

clearly states that PT11 and MC 6.5.x are unsupported in Video Satellite mode

However, the PT11.1.2 readme says THIS at the top of page 13:

"Video Satellite Media Composer 6.5 Video Satellite not seen by Pro Tools (PTSW-183505)
Media Composer 6.5 does not appear as a Video Satellite when used with Pro Tools 11. A Media Composer 6.5.x patch is required to run Media Composer with Pro Tools 11 in this configuration. Visit www.avid.com for Media Composer 6.5 updates."


I've been to avid.com and as stated in the original post have the most recent version/patch of MC6.5 available, 6.5.4.1 If there's another patch I can't find it. But the PT11.1.2 system still doesn't recognize the MC satellite.


Avid? What's the story here, does it work or doesn't it? Is there a patch I'm not seeing? Is there a fix in the works or is this just a means to force me to upgrade MC to version 7 even though there is no practical reason other than this for me to do so?
