Default Upgrade to 11?

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to check and make sure that if we upgrade from 10 to 11, that all of our current project files will transfer over and be recognized by 11.

Are there any precautions I should take before doing the upgrade?

Appreciate any advice.

Your current sessions should work in Pro Tools 11, but a few things.

Pro Tools 10 uses RTAS (or AAX32) as the plugin format where Pro Tools 11+ uses AAX64 bit. You will need an AAX 64 bit version of your plugins for the session to show up exactly the same.

Pro Tools 12 is the current version. You cannot buy Pro Tools 11 from the Avid shop or most authorized re-sellers.

Windows 10 is not approved for any version of Pro Tools at this point.

To add to Benoni's post, purchasing the perpetual license for 12 gives you a 10/11/12 bundle license that will authorize any of those PT versions. If you go monthly or yearly subscription, you only get a 12 license.

Windows 10 has indeed been qualified for PT 12.5, but most people are having major headaches with 12.5. 12.4 HD on Win 7 good and stable here.
