Default Waves TrueVerb mutes sound

Hello,

I have a curious effect when I load Waves TrueVerb Demo to an insert slot:

The audio just mutes... same effect with audio, aux and instrument track.

even when I load the plugin to another non-affected channcel... silence.
i mean even when the audio does not touch this track???

I use PT 8.0.3 m-powered with an audiophile usb on xp sp3.

this effect never came with any other plugin.

sometimes when I use the plugin on another track on the first position, the plugin sounds and works. but I cannot reproduce the situation in which it works.

has someone the same problem?

why does the audio mute? any ideas, thx

Its a Demo? Allot of Demo's Mute after so many seconds, min. so that you can try it but not actually use it, Now IM not sure if this is the case but you might want to check out the product web page for the Demo. I personally never use Demo's. If a Demo makes my Pro Tools unstable then I have no recourse at all.

Hi thx for your anwser,

no. This demo provides a demo period in which it's full functional.

So the license is active on my ilok and should work like the full version.

The problem is: One time, when I set a "test" instrument on a instrument track which I routed to another instrument track on which I put TrueVerb on the FIRST position...

it worked. also quite a long time.

But never on another inserts position.

Like

+Instrument+
+TrueVerb+
+other Plugin+

is never working, but

Track1
+Instrument+
+other Plugin+
+Send to Track 2+

Track2
+TrueVerb+
+anything+

worked sometimes

It's like putting 2 instruments without having the 2. an input that is also not working, but mutes everything.

I really like to buy TrueVerb so I got this demo for testing it.
But I want room emulation and no PT stressing...

If someone knows what this is about... plz help me
THX

edit: it really mutes just all channels... without selected M

The problem was:

My decimal seperator windows setting was set to comma. I changed this to point.

This caused the plugins malfunction.

Solved

Hey. I'm having the same issue with my Drumagog. If I insert it then it mutes my audio. If I click to bypass it I get the sound coming back trough again. Any thoughts of why it might be doing that??

Greetings node100.

I bought Native Power Pack the other day and I had exactly the same problem with TrueVerb plus it consumed a lot of CPU on all 4 cores. At first I thought your solution proposal was a joke, said in desperation. I decided to try it out anyway (in desperation) and it works!!!

One question for you: How did you figure it out?

One question for Waves: What are you guys thinking about?

Default [Solved] Waves TrueVerb mutes sound

I contacted Waves support and here's the full repair procedure:

1. Go to: Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Select Regional and Language Options.
3. Click on the Customize button.
4. Make the following changes:
Decimal symbol: . (dot)
Digit grouping symbol: , (comma)
List separator: , (comma)
Negative number format: -1.1

Issue is that Waves stuff is only fully supported under English (US). Furthermore it was stated that this is a very old known issue. Maybe it is time to make a correction then?
