Default Unique ID

Is there a way to stamp Unique ID to files? I am seeing a lot of files in sessions with no Unique ID. We are having relink issues going from PT 10.3.2 to PT 10.3.7. The files are in the Audio Files folder but PT will not see them. Some can be relinked manually (one at a time P.I.T.A.) some not. Some relink but are corrupt. These sessions are saved out copying all audio files. The files in question are all missing Unique ID. Didn't have issues until I had to send sessions to a dub stage running 10.3.7. Is this a 10.3.2 problem or 10.3.7 problem?
I've also noticed certain processing (eg:RX) strips out the Unique ID.
It's happening with various rigs and configs including Mac And Win so...

I don't know how to specifically assign unique ID's, I was under the impression that it's done automatically to every audio file used by Pro Tools. Maybe "Save Copy In" would do it?

What you can do to avoid linking each file individually is:
  • In the find and relink dialog, select all your offline or unlinked files
  • Click the "Find Links" button
  • Select "Find by Name"
  • I usually tick the boxes for format and duration
This will ignore the Unique File ID. It should allow you to relink all your files at once.

Find By Name doesn't work for these files even though they are in the Audio Files folder.

Are you not relinking files that have the same name? By your description, the audio files themselves remain unchanged (except for the ID, which I haven't encountered)

Yes same name that's what is strange. The last time I had to relink over 300 files one at a time using Find All Candidates. Need to do some further testing but looking to see if others are having similar issues specifically PT10.
