Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
I think the "Aliens" styling of Logic is horrible

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
I agree totally that we don't need a rainbow of colors like cubase or SAW. Subdued colors, and only a few. The monotone gray is getting tired. ..a lil' more 3D in spots maybe.
What a shame we can't customize the look like the desktop. True we don't need this to get the job done, it just might make it a little more comfortable for some. If you don't agree with that, then ditch your Herman Miller coz a barstool is cheaper!

How about concentrating on getting the more useful features implemented before we pretty it up...eh?

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
I don't think they need to go nuts. But if you look at the difference between iTunes 1 and current iTunes ( I think it's 3) the difference is subtle but amazing. It has a more 3 dimensional feel.
I think that difference would be cool for PT6. The simplicity is great, but it could be modernized without sacrificing function. It's important not to write of the UI. Remember when < blink > was big in web design. Whoa. Glad we're moving forward |

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
Agreed Jules, thats the main reason Ieft logic (even for midi) I just hated the way it looks.
A bit of Aqua could be nice. |

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
I really like the way it looks now, I don't like all the clutter that some other programs seem to have. When DP V3 came out I really didn't like the way it looked, but in time I've come not to mind it so much, so maybe the same will happen with PT

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
Someone above said it. "pts should appeal to more than just the rock guys"
Completely agree. For recording live stuff then its simplicity is great. For midi, audio, Virtual instruments. Its very messy, cluttered, akward and looks like like the very first cubase for the atari. Very boring, and outdated. Pt needs cosmetuc surgery in all areas. Digi is in california after all

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
obviously, the people that loves the current PT look doesn't work with many channels and do the mixing in PT.
GUI is meant to assist (and inspire) the operator. Having 100 grey faders in the mixer and abbreviated names often force me to stop for a minute to locate a track for editing. I would like to have the possiblity of giving each track a different colour of choice - no 60's psychedelia needed, just enough to tell them apart. And on a side note: how about making a combined MIDI and AUX track; an INSTRUMENT track. Just like when we got stereo tracks it would save precious real estate on those BIIIIG mixes.... |

Re: Anyone else hoping for new look for PT6?
Please keep the protools gui as it is! It is the most soothing, to the point and professional interface I know. I do not need bells and whistles and a glaring Xmas tree. I'm not saying a few minor changes might not be OK, the possibility to (soft)colour differentiate tracknames, e.g., but for the major part leave it as it is! Please!!
