HDX in Windows System Audio vs MAC Core Audio
I run HDX in a 2019 Mac Pro, Core audio lets you route system audio (core audio) into MTRX. I am thinking about switching over to Windows system, does the HD driver in Windows allow you to use outside of protools the ability to send windows audio into MTRX via Digilink or it only works on MAC?
Thanks Bass |

Re: HDX in Windows System Audio vs MAC Core Audio
Hopefully, someone with direct experience will chime in soon. Meanwhile, on all my Windows systems, including a pair of HDN rigs, I have chosen to keep things separated. I run the motherboard's optical SPDIF output to its own input on my monitor switcher and that gives great results. I'll be watching this thread to see what others have to offer

It would be wonderful to see Micro$oft expand WASAPI into the driver standardization and flexibility of Apple core audio.

^^^ Ah the irony of the overall environment that WASAPI is a part of Microsoft had the gumption to call "Core Audio"

Re: HDX in Windows System Audio vs MAC Core Audio
Maybe I am just doing something drastically wrong (only started using Windows
again 12 months ago), but I have never found a WDM component to the HD Drivers. There is an ASIO component that will let you use HDX in other DAWs, but not for system sounds, etc.

Re: HDX in Windows System Audio vs MAC Core Audio
My Gigabyte z390 Designair has a SPDIF optical output I run into the optical input on my Avid Omni, can put it in the Omni’s mixer and plays back fine. That input also resamples any audio coming in to the Omni’s set sample rate without issue.

Re: HDX in Windows System Audio vs MAC Core Audio
DVS is a good method of doing it with the MTRX.
