MOTU MachFive v3 AAX

Having used MachFive since version 1 I was surprised to see the recent update to v3 AAX as I gave up on it really.

Is there anyone out there who could share her/his experiences with the AAX version? Would love it, tia.

I can not recall presets created in earlier versions. Anybody else experience this?

How do you all like machfive? I've been interested for quite a while and kinda forgot about it. Seems to be quite a good bargain for the amount you get, but how does the quality compare to Komplete/kontakt etc?

I'm not doing a ton of strictly orchestral stuff but always on the look out for all kinds of sounds that are good and work in a mix more so then strictly sound hyper-realistic. The engine here seems quite flexible.

What is the connection to UVI, you can load all the UVI libs in machfive? Thanks

Hi. Yes, you can load the uvi libraries in machfive. It is powered by the UVI engine. Perhaps the dudes at uvi actually wrote the software for motu?

Anyway, the sound has always been good with uvi and machfive sounds great. There is a lot of sounds that comes with it. It loads just about any format in the universe which is a big plus.

The downside is that it is a bit of a dark horse. Few people run it and very few sounds are developed for it. Kontakt won that race many years ago.

The plug is very powerful and that also makes it a little hard to get to grips with. A high threshold, if you will.

Hey Johan- same problem here. Have MOTU Tech support working on it, and will let you know if I have any solution.

Good. I have been in touch with tech supp as well and they are aware of the problem.

Stories like these make me worry and I wonder if it makes sense to invest into their products any longer. I mean don't they have any beta sites to check obvious stuff like this?

And even if they don't, why can they not check simple stuff like this themselves before a release?
