Default long \"save\" during playback, shuts down plug in automation

On some large sessons the save operation takes up to 10 seconds (is this ok?) and while saving, I noticed that some of the automated things on plug ins kinda froze throughout the 10 seconds, making the save period - "not the real mix' It's fun to listen! & save!but not like this obviously...
is this just me, a bug or what?
Thanks,
Jules

My sessions usually don't have a lot of tracks, but I did notice once, when a session had a load of different playlists on a number of tracks it took a long time to save as you described. Can't tell ya about the automation though, as I really didn't have much of any on that session.

I have had the same problem while scrolling the edit window up and down, but not side to side. I have especially noticed this on Pitch Correction plug automation.

Jules:

What's your DiskCache size setting in the ->Controlpanels->Memory->Cachememory-size? It should be set to around 512k. or less. On my rig this kind of behavior occurred when I've had it set to "Default".

I had the same experience as Huby -- saves real quick and easy now.

but I don't use a lot of automation...
