Overlapping audio?
Hi everyone. I'm a new Pro Tools user, and I am stumped. At the end of my song I want the chorus to repeat 2 times, but I cant seem to get it right. My usual method is just to copy it to other empty tracks and then bounce the combined tracks to disk, and import them back in. There has to be a simplier way of doing this. If there is please help. Thanks.

Re: Overlapping audio?
Highlight the section you want reapeated.
Then select Apple key and D and there you go. |

Re: Overlapping audio?
I'm sorry I wasnt clear with my question. Sometimes I need for the audio to overlap if that makes any sense. I tried dragging a section to another section, but all it does is overwrite the previous data. Thanks for your response.

Re: Overlapping audio?
Oh I think I know what you're talking about.
On a hiphop song I did a few months back, there was a really complex vocal line where the singer was singing with himself, but not at the same time. What I mean is, some of the lines would be picked up by a secondary take, and they would slightly overlap. A perfect example of this would be on Sublime's "What I got." Lots of that stuff in there. Am I right? What I did was I created two tracks and simply copied the phrases I wanted from my playlists and put them onto the 2ndary track where I wanted them to overlap. The processing on the tracks was identical. That's the only way I can think of doing it. There may be another way, but it works for me. Good Luck! |
