Default storing on the same hard drive.

I will be running both Logic and PT LE, what I need to know can you record onto the same hard drive with no problems or will there be a conflict. I have a Western Digital 20 gig partitioned in two sections. Would it be better to use one section for PT and the other with Logic or just copy the files to CD and clear the drive after each session?
Also will Logic work good on a ATA drive?
