Default UA Plugins

Think it would be a better move to grab the Pultec EQ instead of the Neve 1073, since I already got the 610 Preamp? I got 100$ coupon n there's a sale this month; several r only 99$.

I need to check the sale....I think a neve with unison pre's would be more desirable than the 610. IMHO

Where did you get a 100 dollar voucher from? There is no "sale" right now, just the usual $50 off on 10 plugons chosen by UA.

Think it's from my recent Apollo purchase.

I had it wrong. The plugins r 99 if u already have the Legacy versions. This means I can choose from the 1176, LA-2A, Fairchild Collection or Pultec EQs. I have until tomorrow (when my coupon expires). Are the other versions really that much better than the Legacy?

Oh yeah, the new 1176 and LA-2A are 1000x better than the legacy versions

I never liked the Fairchild nor the Pultec's but that's probably just me

Any suggestion on which one to choose? I've found a use for pretty much all of them. Although I agree about the Pultec EQ being lackluster. When you say that they're 1000x better, is it quality, more options or both? Also, is the only way to acquire a Legacy only version via a promo? i.e. all of my legacy plugins came w/ the Apollo (as a promo). Thanks.

Sorry just back from a little birthday party

The LA2A and the 1176 have so much more character and true classic analog hardware sound compared to the legacy version plug-ins.

There is no other way to describe it except the quality of the sound is very much in essence with what a piece of hardware would sound like....

which cannot be said of the legacy versions, it just sounds better.

If I had to pick 2 plug-in's from Universal it would be the 1176 bundles and the LA2A bundles

I think the Legacy versions are the original ones that UA released. I'm most likely gonna go w/ either the 1176 or LA-2A, although the Fairchild Bundle had a lot of cool features not included in the Legacy version. I really don't wanna use up the Demo for this, but maybe it's the right move....

Can't go wrong with either of these, essential plug-ins

I personally don't care for the Fairchild but like a said earlier maybe that's just me
