Default Hybrid Studio Remote Sessions

Most of my work is remote these days and the tech has made this incredibly easy. One area i'm struggling with is when some spople come into the studio
adn we use the speakers.... the remote clients loop back because of the talkback speaker thing.

I'm thinking of setting up a separate dedicated system but am wondering if anyone else has figured something out.

-thnx

Separate system for talking back and forth is easier. Have your main system send out the stream/feed, but have a separate computer to handle the communicating back and forth on.

I have a laptop on a stand that I use for Zoom or Evercast communication. And a mic that has a push to talk function.

Although I do have my room set up in a way where I can have only Pro Tools audio going through my main speakers, and computer audio only going through a separate set of smaller computer speakers, I still find it easier to have a separate laptop for everyone in the room to talk to when we are doing a combination of some in-room people and some remote people at the same time.

Also if you're using a program like Evercast, that has neat features that allows people on their end to control and mute the source sounds and the talkback sounds separate, which is often helpful as well.

Thanks Leverson,

That kind of describe my scenario to a tee. I'll look into a dedicated remote talk system.

This is what I use.

Dedicated volume knob and analog switch. Switch might click for some people, so maybe use the aux I/O into PT with a 4:1 light compression on it.
