Exclamation Mbox2 on mac 10.5.4 Pro Tools 7.4.2

Why is it when every time I connect my mbox to my mac, and when I shut my system down my mac always have a black shadow message on my screen talking about I need to shut my computer down or hold down the power button cause of technical issues....Why is that? Do I need to upgrade something FOR THE MBOX?

First of all, don't connect your MBox while your mac is already ON, you should connect your Mbox before turning On your Mac, Second, Use the USB port near the power adaptor, not the ones on the other side. There have been known issues re connectiong your interface on the other side and not the one beside the power adaptor.

Thanks for the info. If It still repeats the same problem, is it anything else
you suggest to do?

You could try making sure that all audio applications are closed and that I/O is switched back to internal before shutting down.

Digi Firewire interfaces don't like it when you're using any FW800 devices (like hard drives). Stick with all FW400 (daisy chained if you need to, or with a FW800/FW400 cable) and you should be OK. Don't know if it will help this particular problem, but my system was having lots of trouble when I was using both my Mbox2 Pro and FW800 drive.

You should make sure that NO application, or the Sound control panel, are using the hardware (or set to use it) when you shut down.
