Great to know, thanks. I am one of those eager to get my hands on version 10.

If you owned a version of Pro Tools 9 Student, either purchased or crossgraded, you were entitled to 4 years worth of free upgrades, which obviously includes this upgrade due to Pro Tools 10 being released less than a year after the release of 9.

Hi DTS!

I filled the registration form, but it's complaining that the serial number has already been registered. That's reasonable because I have registered my ProTools 9 already.

What should I do? I have tried to get information from Avid Store support mail, but that really not helping...

Best regards,
Välle

Hi guys

I am wondering if I will still be eligible for the PT10 upgrade If I purchased my copy of Pro Tools 9 Student only now in November, AFTER PT10 was released?

my retailer did'nt have a copy of PT10 in stock and I got a good deal on the pro tools 9 student version that they had..

hope someone can enlighten me...

Theoretically you should be able to get the free upgrade only because you bought the STUDENT Pro Tools 9. The student license comes with 4 years of free upgrades so hopefully you can download PT 10 from Avid's website. Although I am not completely positive.

yeah well I asked my retailer and also checked on the website - It clearly says:

"Do I qualify for a free upgrade?
You’re eligible to receive a free upgrade to Pro Tools 10 or Pro Tools HD 10 if you purchased and registered Pro Tools 9 or Pro Tools HD 9 software on or after October 1, 2011 (register your purchase). If you qualify, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to get your free upgrade."

So by their definition i get the upgrade, and i'll be damn pissed if i dont!
