Im wondering now as well....

If its a free updates for 4 years kind of deal does that mean we (who upgraded from 9 to 10) also qualify for a free upgrade to 11? (which judging by recent standards will probably be in a few months!)

That's exactly what it means.

Very impressed at that quick email responses, it was literally about 10 mins after I activated the product...

Let me know if you don't get a reaction.

Thanks
I created a registration case and I've not heard from anyone from Avid. I have a registered copy of PT9 and I've been on the lookout for emails as to how to upgrade.

I bought Pro Tools 9 for students through Sweetwater in January 2011. I never received an update email until I called Avid and spoke to them on the phone for over an hour. They finally admitted to having registered me incorrectly. If you bought Pro Tools for students and haven't gotten a Pro Tools 10 email, call Avid and discuss it directly with them.

They explained to me that the reason I never got the email was because of errors in registration that they were experiencing.

I purchased a student LE cross grade to PT10 download from studica on Oct. 23rd. At that time it said pre-order only and delivery was expected from Avid as late October. Afterwards that changed to "Avid expects delivery in November" and now it doesn't say anything.

My order status now just says "back ordered". Can someone explain to me how a download only program can be back ordered? I thought the installer is the same as the regular version. I was hoping the demo would be available soon to tide me over until I got my download. Now the demo won't be available until late December. Anyone have any idea when I could expect to receive PT10?

When I purchased Pro Tools 9 Crossgrade from LE for Student a year ago, Avid could not deliver the product for a couple of months because of trouble on Authorization Code for Student.
I don't know the root cause of this time, but I cannot understand why Avid must repeat such a stupid mistake.

At that time, the dealer arranged to give us the one-month temporary iLok license until the product was finally delivered.
You may want to ask it to your dealer.

So is a student version considered the same as academic version? A bunch of lecturers at SAE Institute recently bought PT9 and were told by the store we weren't able to get a free upgrade. Is this true Avid? I hope not as we are the ones that teach students how to use it.
