Default New Steely Dan- credits for Digi and Opcode?

"Two Against Nature"- technical support: Digidesign and Opcode. SMOKING hot!

Two tail wags from Shaggy!

...meanwhile Limp Bisquick is out breaking windows in Digidesign's parking lot!

Is there something I'm missing here?

Shaggy,

Much as I love these guys, when I first heard the single on the radio I thought, "hey great, an old Steely Dan track, but which album is it on ?".
It must have taken them an awful lot of time to re-create that sound !
But who cares ? Don't change a winning team !
So it appears it is actually possible to make an record in the year 2000 that sounds as warm as an analog recording made in 76, using Pro-tools.
I don't want to hear anybody complaining about the "coldness" of digital recording anymore. It's not what equipment you use, it's HOW you use it and WHAT you play.

Hey, I'll cool down for now. I've just been enjoying the record while checking the DUC (while sipping a nice glass of wine) and I don't want to start yet another tech-heads vs vintage freaks argument.

Re : Limp Bizkit : who's they ? (joking)

His descendents have cursed the name...

I don't know about Katy Lied and Aja (and my vinyl copies are too far from my desk), but I'm pretty sure Fagen's first solo effort "the Nightfly" was one of the first fully digital recordings (on a 3M machine, if I remember right).

Cheers

For all of you who missed your men's group last week (including Cousin Dupree):

*Negative Girl

Shaggy starts his mornings with a cup of joe and track 8.

note: when I'm over this one I'll go back to Pharoah Sander's Karma (Morning Prayer).

Shaggy out.
