Default Real sounding Piano

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any good suggestions on software instrument plug-ins outside of the ones that come with Pro Tools for piano.

The one that sounds REALLY realistic is what I'm looking for, specially for non-apright piano, more of the Grand piano sound.

I found something as this: http://www.soundsonline.com/Quantum-...pr-EW-171.html

Quite expensive... I'm wondering if that's worth a purchase?

If else, what other recommendations do you guys have?

Thanks! :)

S

The most popular one that's really good is Synthogy Ivory. You can hear demos on their website. Jordan Rudess recorded his latest piano solo album using it rather than a real piano.

Also, something cheaper that just came out is Native Instruments Alicia's Keys. Heard wonderful things about that.

True, Ivory's great. It was my #1 for a long time. Until I got Alicia's Keys, which is about all I've used since.

I wouldn't call ANY single library all-encompassing or do-it-all -- I'm glad I have several options.

^That's the one you two are talking about, right? I'll check it out now, for sure.

What about the one I posted, does anyone know if that's good? :S

I've used Mini grand before, as a piano player, it seemed rather dull...

Ivory seemed very promising out of all the suggestions so far.

Although, I'm not sure the difference between Italian grand and Gold standard; I know nothing about brands when it comes to Piano haha...

The left two looks good; been listening to both demos but the Italian one sounds a lot better...

What exactly is the huge difference anyhow? I mean, I want to use for solo piano, and in extreme metal, per say. So needs to be able to handle both.

Ivory is excellent.

I'll be honest though in a world of hyper realistic monster piano samples I'm tired of everything sounding like some perfect grand in a perfect room with just the right amount of ambiance..... It's boring. It's Boob Job Piano. Gimme the girl next store.

I love the Ivory Uprights but then I'm a hobo.

If you have Structure or Structure LE or Free and are looking for a "Bigger Grand" sound than Mini Grand you might want to check out the "Concerto" Sample set for Structure on the AIR Users Blog. Its extremely inexpensive and may be just what your looking for.

Ahahahahaha, good one.

Well, I want that depth feeling you get from grand piano, when you hit the low notes, or higher, that feeling... If you know what I mean...

The italian version on Ivory, that had more of the old school, analogue feeling to it if I'm right. But sounds like that, can you actually imagine them being able to "fit in" extreme metal?

I mean, this is quite expensive, and I want my money to be worth spent. I want one that can be used for my solo piano purposes as well as for bands I'm in, you know. Not that rich, haha...

Does structure LE come with Pro Tools? I've only installed the software, so only has the very default. But I do own the other disks that came with it, which I believe were for instruments.
