Creating new playlist from regions that are ranked? PT8

Hi there,

I'm loving the new PT8, especially the new playlist view but had a thought:

Its great being able to give each region a rating, but if your working on a vocal pass for instance and you have several playlists to chose from to make your comp, is there a way you can tell PT's to take all the regions with a certain rating and create a new playlist with them?

Do you mean Filtering lanes? (Reference Guide page 540)

This does certainly help, thank you but it still doesn't quite do the job. I still can't find a way so it must be a manual job to create a comp - manual is best I guess!

I think that is quite a nice idea for a feature or maybe two

1) create new playlist from (xx)Rated regions in playlist

2) create new playlist from consecutively selected regions ranging over multiple tracks

Yeah but that's not making any sense to me. How do you "Create A Playlist" from Multiple playlists, without being the one to choose, which lines "Make it" into the comp?

Typically if I've got 7 or 8 vocal passes, 4 or 5 of them may have the same (Highest) rating.

I wouldn't have any use for Pro-Tools to randomly assemble various lines from all the "4 Star Rated Passes"
