Protools 8 & Yamaha XS Midi USB Driver Prob
Hi,
Just bought my new Yamaha Rack Mount XS Tone Generator and was looking forward to connecting with my new Protools LE 8 on my Vista loaded PC but not to be. In protools I can see the XS as a select option in the Midi setup and individual channel selections but on selection no sound or midi in indication from the XS when playing. I tried the XS with other software to check the USB driver and it works well with BIB, Cubase and even Vanbasco Karaoke player but not Protools. If I use from the Digi Rack 002 midi out as the selected misi option and the connect to the XS using a midi cable in then its ok. So I can get around the problem but Protools should be able to connect with the USB direct to the XS. Any help appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Protools 8 & Yamaha XS Midi USB Driver Prob
this may be the fault of the Yamaha piece as their USB implementation is not that great. My Motif es8 can't be found thru its USB connector but works just fine with MIDI cables. You could(assuming you need those MIDI ports of the 002 for other things), just add another USB/MIDI interface.
