Default Unable to record? Weird error mesage

Hi. I'm trying to bus one track to another and record it to audio, but I get an error message that says "Unable to create record files for one or more tracks. Check your disk allocation and drive permissions." I haven't changed my disk allocation or drive permissions, at least not deliberately. What should I do?

Just started getting these to pop up on 2021.12 (OS X 10.15.7) as well. Only fix I found was to record to the computers HD, not an external.

copy your session folder or start a new session on the main HD...open it from that location and you should be able to record.

turns out reversing playback and record in the workstation (making mac playback and external drive record) has somehow saved the day...

It sounds like a permissions issue on your drive (so not a PT issue per se).

Are you logged in using an Admin or User account?

If you don’t have admin privileges on the machine, you’re only able to write data within your home folder (unless an admin account has setup alternate permissions for the user account).

If you’re indeed logged in as an administrator, I’d run Repair Permissions for the system drive, and then check PT record permissions in workspace.
