I thought I was the lone ranger when I first noticed it being broken in 7.2...ie. the inability to draw waveforms when in search mode.
Whew! I thought it was just me!

My computer is supervised by a corporate IT department, so executing the troubleshooting in the Tips Sticky requires someone from IT to come and type in their admin password several times. More trouble than it's worth, so consequently I've learned to live with no waveforms in the Search function, but now you guys have given me a serious reason to wait for 7.3. Thanks for the warning!

Default Re: Assertion message when using workspace browser

I had this same message yesterday (first and only time it's happened to me) when bouncing to disk (MP3 format). It could not complete the bounce due to the "assertion" message.

After that, when re-opening the session, I was getting messages (on two instances) that said something like, "regions have been removed from the Regions bin because the files they refer to are too short." Sure enough when the session opened, there were sound drop-outs where certain regions were missing.

This doesn't sound related at all.

The assertion message you're getting is more than likely related to a corrupted database - trashing them should clear up the problem.

However, more information about your system, Pro Tools version and the exact steps you're taking to create the problem would be necessary to completely diagnose the problem.
