I am going to be buying an internal 9-gig hard drive for my Mac 7600 to use with a d24 card. Will a wide drive be a better choice for performance or will it not matter?

Which Internal SCSI buss? If internal MAC buss go with Ultra NOT Wide (Wide will require adapters etc, and won't buy you anything). If internal SCSI accelerator buss, get Fast & Wide, you WILL notice a difference! Especially on Finder copying!
