Default god these are great

after 1 minute of using my command 8, i placed 24 tracks of Mackie control on ebay - goodbye...forever

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Once you get PT11 the command 8 won't work anymore. A Mackie or an Avid controller will be the only alternatives.

ha ha - i'm on PT HD 8.1.1...I don't plan on ever leaving...I'm done for a planned 5 years...(just think of the $ i'll save!)

They never said it would not work. They've said things like this in the past and things just kept working just fine.

What they said is they will no longer support the Command 8 in PT11 and beyond. The ProControl has been working in all versions of PT to date, but unsupported for some time now.

Command 8's can be had for less than 500 used easy these days, it's still a no brainer to "me".

Yea; unsupported control surface means Avid is not going to implement new features anymore so no new firmware updates

working very well for me on PTHD8.1.1...haven't dove into all the features yet...but I will...ha ha, may not need a firm update...may stay on her with 8.1.1 for a very very long time
