I fell for the Bass Fingers plugin and it doesn’t install ..

hey Folks,

well it is all installed now I believe.... once I downloaded the samples, I located the folder locations on my MBP where the samples appeared greyed out (refer to the image I posted earlier) copied and pasted the uncompressed sample folders in there. Although you could place them where you like I believe just have to point Bass Finger to the right place.

Ok this may be a dumb question so ill ask it here.... with the sample libraries you don't have a list of samples you can choose, but the plugin selects them depending on the settings you choose within the plugin itself? hence why Chris asked earlier if I only DL'd the plug and not the SD and HD samples how was I getting sound when we were having issues installing (seems we were not the only ones)

I would seem to me that the initial failed installs did install a large chunk of the samples and why they appeared greyed out... maybe when I installed the plug by itself I could access those greyed out samples somehow. Just not sure how these sample are meant to work so I can confirm it is installed correctly.... Sorry if that all sound a lil confusing...

Yep - select a Preset from the Menu.


My (Windows) installation:

After extracting the WinZip (Bass-Fingers-samples-HD), put the Bass Fingers HD Folder here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Data\Instrument Data\Waves Sample Libraries

Downloaded the (5.66 GB) Offline Installer (thanks martthie_08 for Post #26 with links). Installed Bass Fingers plug-in (it includes the AAX/Vst/VST3 WavesShells).

Held down the Shift Key during Pro Tools launch to check the “Rescan all Plug-Ins” option, to add Bass Fingers.

Once Bass Fingers was instantiated, Pro Tools asked for location of Waves Bass Fingers samples (see pic 1)

Takes a while to load the HD samples – red line at top – (see pic 2)

Once samples have loaded, hit the ‘Load’ button to the left of the ‘Save’ button at the top RHS to select a Preset (see pic 3)

Hey mate, that third image is the preset list.... it's a seperate folder... samples and presets are 2 seperate things.

I also found out that the 2 sample folders SD and HD are exactly the same except the SD folder has been compressed.... and hence will place more load on your CPU than the HD uncompressed version. recommended if you have the space run the HD version.

it is basically the installation data for all their Plugins, minus the Sampler Instruments. You'll still need Waves Central to actually install and authorise everything!

Heaps to choose from - plenty to tweak ..... lottsa fun for a pittance!
