Default disc access % - burped bounce

was running a mix of 52 tracks off a OWC quad mini stack V3 for convenience.
it was running avg 75% disc access whether USB or FW800.
I had a glitched mix, so I switched to a Glyph GPT50 Quad and da went down to 45% peak with a 40% avg.
I know the GPT is a 7500rpm drive and considerably newer and I think Glyph knows there **** when it comes to bridgeboards.
Not that OWC doesn’t.
I’m pretty sure the OWC was 7200, but I could be mistooken.

Older bridge board issue?
Slow death drive?
30% is a whole lot it would seem.

Tough to say, but I would immediately backup everything on the OWC, just in case Then try to verify if the drive(s) is 7200 rpm

FYI the GPT50 drives are 7200 rpm - I have a pair of them here. Except for one that had a bridgeboard that died an infant death that got fixed no charge/pronto by Glyph they have been solid as a rock. And fast. My only other drives are LaCie but they're on a Thunderbolt connection and the Glyphs are on FW800 so it'd be an apples to oranges comparison. All 7200 rpm spinners.
