Default Offset after recording audio routed thru a bus

Hi,

today I recorded some background vocals. Same Setup as always (since years):
2 Mics using two preamps. The 2 outputs of the preamps are connected to Input 1 & Input 2 of my HD i/o.

The two Inputs of the HD i/o are set as input sources of two AuxInputs within PT. The Outputs of the 2 AuxInputs are routed via one mono bus to an audio track so that I can record the two mics as one MonoAudioTrack.

After recording I remarked that the recorded AudioClip had an awful offset (much too late). I tried all kind of trouble shooting, like disabling and re-enabling ADC, changed playback buffer size, disabled dozens of PlugIns ... but no success.

All I could do was to record directly to an AudioTrack without the routing via a bus . Of course I had to use 2 AudioTracks, each set to a different input as I was using 2 preamps plugged into my HD i/o.

Any idea what could have happened and have others seen this, too ?

Hi John,

no - this was of course the first thing I checked - just clean AuxInputs without any PlugIns. The AudioTracks also had no PlugIns.
Is it that what you meant with "master track" ?

Thx

Yes - there was no Plugin in the Master Out1-2. You cannot record if there is an active PlugIn - too much delay during recording (i.e. Ozone or Alchemist).

Hi Drew,

would be great if you could look into into it !
The AuxInputTracks tracks for the 2 PreAmpInputs are on track number 20 and 21.

sorry, had out of town clients with me all weekend, will check today.

EDIT-I'd start by making the Mac Input inactive.

No - this isn't it. The MacInput is active in my session. However, even if I delete the StereoAuxInput for the MacInput, the offset remains.
I did an hour testing today. As as I route a "live input" thru a bus into an AudioTrack I'm getting an offset. Even in my session template.

If I disable ADC then it works ... but then of course all the rest of the tracks aren't in sync anymore

Any other idea (beside a complete new MacOs from scratch installation) ?
