YEAH!!! Long live that close-bit sound!

Right, reducing the empty space between bits presents a sweetness (at faster tempos) that has never been possible with traditional loose bit recording.

The problem is that a lot of people don't realize that "the cloud" doesn't even exist...

It's somebody's cloud, and there are any number of forces that can turn that cloud into nothing.

Recognize those facts, and just act accordingly...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?

There's some very relevant debate about that, and the internet in general here.

That's a point that was rattling around my brain this morning between the alarm going off and me finally getting out of bed.

For someone to be able to pull the plug and all my data be gone means that it truly wasn't redundant. Not until my data is so redundant that no minority disconnects will have an effect will there be a true cloud. Until then, it's just an imaginary cloud.

Our session backup/archival needs are still under a TB per year. Drives handle that very cost effectively for us.
