Default New computer. Mac pro. need to reload. any advice?

My Mac g5 ppc. died. I have ordered a Mac pro 2.8 6g. I have a 002r factory. I have all plugins on my ilok. I had been running pt 8.01. The new mac will arrive with snow leopard. I don't know which version. When I checked my account I do have the download for 8.03. I discovered you must load 8.03 before you can load the 8.04 update. I need advice on clean install on my new computer. Plugins and pro tools. In what order. How should I reload bomb factory? 7.x 002 factory update? I could use some good advice how to proceed. What order? Ilok updates?

Here is a new interactive program to help with installation:

Your new Mac will come with Snow Leopard, probably 10.6.5. That will run 8.0.4.

Yes, install 8.0.3 and then 8.0.4cs2. Then third-party plugs, making sure they are compatible. i-lok needed for some plugs but not for PT8.

Yes, update your i-lok software.

This would be a great time to upgrade to 9.

Thank you. That was quite useful and informative. If I were to buy the box upgrade for PT9 native would I be required to preload 8.03/8.04?

If you're buying PT9, then you're better off not having 8 already on there. If it is, you should do a complete uninstall of it.
