Send output pop up window missing

The send pop up window does not appear when I click on any channel send. I have tried using both "assignments" and the individual "sends" under the view tab. I do get the small send on the channel using the "sends" selection but the larger pop up send has gone missing. I'm using a Mackie controller and the problem occurs whether it is on or off. Any suggestions?

LE 8.0.4
Mac Pro dual core
OS: Leopard
