Default RS-422 to MMC or just SMPTE

OK, I figured this would be the place for this question...

I am looking for a stand alone device that can accepet RS-422 and create either MMC w/ MTC or a simple SMPTE LTC stream. Prefferably, LTC. I have tried the JL Cooper devices and a Lynx 1 with no luck. I want this device to essentially emulate a machine so when I select it the recognition is that of any sony 9-pin device.

Thanks folks

Currently, the video world is limited to 48kHz.

What difference does its sample rate have to do with anything if you are just generating LTC? you sync it to Blackburst and be done with it. If you are in ProTools why not use the SYNC i/o- It is a proven device.... and it can publish LTC without dealing with 422 or Midi Timecode.

There is plenty of recording and mixing being one at 24/96. Yes, the Sync I/O would be the better option within Pro Tools HD. I was making comment on the MOTU DTP link. It's a great box, but is limited to 48kHz NOT HD sample rates (for clocking to).

The point was that in your initial post, which was looking for a converter to go from RS422/MTC to SMPTE, there was no mention of sample clock. The Digital Timepiece will do that- you are not required to use it as a wordclock source. This is also the case with the MicroLynx.
