Default focusrite ISA producer 430 and 002?

I recently bought the 430 producer pack with the optional AD card from a friend and am having some problems gettin the optical to work with the 002. I had a session that i used it on last night and wound up having to use the analogue output of the 430 which is a bummer since the conversion on the focusrite is a lot better than that of the 002.

I used to have an octopre and used the optical input on the 002, no problem. I am now using a presonus m80 into an RME 8 ds and that into the optical, again no problem. I am not sure what i am not doing right, but it should work with the 430 in the same way. It should be ADAT 1 as the input, and the clock set to adat, right? any ideas? couldnt get anyone on the phone from focusrite either...

If your clock is set to ADAT(sync to the RME box) and the ISA 430 is coming in SPDIF, you need to use a wordclock cable and slave the ISA to your RME box (or whatever is on the ADAT input). There must be one master clock and everything else needs to slave to it.
