Default M3 MBP and Sonoma question

Got the new M3 MacBook Pro for a live recording session tonight .
I stressed the computer for a few days recording from a Midas M32with only one issue :

Trying to route the main out to the headphones out is not working.
No problems with the MBP internal speakers

I tried different combinations of hardware setups as well of I/O setups
made it work once but lost it when reopening the session

If I setup the MBP speakers and plug my headphones I got the warning
that the setup has change and the PT save and reload the session 2 or 3 time

I have read someone suggesting deleting Protools aggregate setup in audio midi config
So far I'm using the M32 config as it's working solid but no headphones

Any suggestion
Thanks

PS: I loaded Logic 10.8 last night and it works as it should with the headphones
I would rather use PT as I'm using it for 20+ years and need to learn Logic on the go

Using PT ultimate 2023 latest version

Unsupported configuration, but please try to enable beta updates and update to 14.2 beta 4 -- it runs much smoother than any Sonoma so far.

I'm still on an Intel machine but ProTools is an app which can't follow Apple's usual auto-switching from internal speakers to headphones. Plugging in or unplugging phones while PT is running doesn't work.

My solution is to plug in the phones before launching PT - and trying to remember to close PT before unplugging them. If they're connected first then External Headphones should be appear as a Playback Engine option.

Humm well first some more detail might help = where are your HP"s plugged in,, the MBP, or the Midas ?

And second what do you have selected as the Playback Engine ? I assume the Midas USB ?

Note I just played with PT and my M1 Pro MBP but on Ventura not Sonoma

Both with just the MBP itself and PT and also with My Avid Carbon connected

What I found was

#1 with just the MBP no Carbon interface
Set =Mac Preferences Sound Out to External Headphones
Set =Audio Midi Set Up Out to External Headphones
connected HP's to MBP.
Set PT Playback engine to External HP
PT played through HP's just fine

#2 Set up My Avid Carbon connected to MBP
Set Mac Preferences Sound to Carbon PT in and out
Set Audio Midi Set Up. in and out to Carbon PT
Set PT Playback engine to Carbon PT
PT played fine when HP's connected to Carbon HP jack
No sound thru HP's connected to MBP

Thanks for the replies to all
Where do I find the beta updates ?

I played is safe and used Logic (pain in the ***** to do backups on location)
after spending a good part of the night searching and learning shortcuts on Youtube.
Smooth recording ,the band was so loud I used my headphone on zero you coupled with earplugs

Going to mix it after transfer to my Ventura HDX setup
