Default Choice of Clarett TB or USB on my 2012 Mac Pro?

What do you think?

In terms of latency: My 2012 Mac Pro w/ 3.46dual 6 core processor 64GB Ram and a Clarett 4Pre Thunderbolt (through thunderbolt PCIe card) or a Clarett 4Pre USB.

Of course Focusrite has discontinued the Clarett TB over problems with Windows drivers or something...but I can still purchase one refurbed. Looking for more opinions on this choice. I don't want to be kicking myself in the months ahead. I'm wondering if the 1 or 2 millisecond difference in the latency is going to be something that makes a noticeable difference when recording/listening, especially during vocal recording. Thank so much.

I have heard lots of praise of the TB version, but unsure how well TB works on a Cheesegrater

Yes you're right. I forgot I looked into the thunderbolt on cheesegrater issue a while back. There's this:

- but I don't think I want to go to that length, which of course kind of makes my choice problem a moot one. Thanks.

That's interesting. Are you using Windows to boot the TB drivers or do these drivers work on a 2011 iMac and not a 2012 Mac Pro?
