Looking to buy a PT12HD system from scratch, don't know where to start
Ultimately, looking to buy a new computer and run pro tools 12 HD on it.
Would one of the new mac pro's be a good choice? What additional hardware would I need to buy to run Pro tools 12 HD? Thanks in advance for any help!!

You will save a ton by piecing a system together separately.
HDN - 800 all day on eBay. Omni - 750 all day on eBay PTHD 11 - 1k on eBay and elsewhere Upgrade to PTHD 12 600 People will tell you, that you can't buy PTHD 11 used without hardware that is transferable, and that is simply not true. I bought mine last summer, and mine is fully transferable.
