Lightbulb PCI HD3 - Super Micro X8SAX with PT9?

alrighty,

well, has anyone tried a PCI HD3 with the Super Micro X8SAX with PT9?

i've read all about it not working properly in the older threads, but they were all PT8.

has anyone come across another Socket 1366 mobo with 3 adjacent PCI slots?

cheers,

I still haven't bought another card to try yet. Still working great with our HD2 and PT9 though.

I finally have a third card on the way. Hopefully within a week or two I can get back to you with some results.

As Third Eye will recall (from my/his posts 1 year ago), I couldn't get a 3rd PCI-x card to work w/ that MB (on PT8 of course).

Love to hear your new testing results soon...

Since the cards are becoming so cheap these days, I thought I'd give it a shot. Although with all the troubleshooting that you already did, I don't really expect to get it going, but I wanted to try.

If I were you I'd buy a cheap PCIX 64 bit chassis. I did and it works great. I can put an HD 7 in it if I want. It's the P7R464 chassis that all the PPC mac users used about 5 years ago. Still works great if you have a PCIX slot in your computer. I bought mine for 100 on ebay.
Best,
Brandon
