Default which vst - rtas adaptor/converter?

I want to download some third party vst plug-ins but have been told that i need a vst to rtas adaptor to do this. I have a 002 rack, windows xp and protools le 8. Can anyone please recommend which may be most compatible for my set up, and where to get it from? Thanks in advance

Plogue Bidule (Free>$75 for VST-Plug)http://www.plogue.com/?cat=4
Kore2 software ($150), VST>RTAShttp://www.native-instruments.com/#/...re-2/?page=294

FXpansion($100)http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=15&tab=43

Bidule is Beta Free and generally for VSTi, it uses rewire.
Vienna Ensemble I believe also hosts VST although I've not used this yet.

Does Plogue Bidule handle VST 2.4 plugins?
I know Fxpansion's does NOT support VST 2.4

Speaking of FXpansion, Keybeets, (or anyone else), I've occaisionally run into a situation where for whatever reason, the VST plug-in won't work with the FX wrapper and I'm not sure why. For example, I like to read Computer Music magazine and every month they include some VST plug-ins, either demos or full software, on the included DVD. Some are actually quite nice. However, every once in a while, FX can't seem to wrap them. I've tried re installing, or uninstalling and going to directly to the websites and downloading, and nothing. What I'm wondering is what determines which VST's will wrap properly and which won't and if there's something I ought to be looking for?

Also, would I be able to use two wrappers simultaneously, say, FX for most of it, and something else for those FX can't wrap?

Thanks

Fxpansion's does NOT support VST 2.4.
Check to see if the plugins that aren't working are VST 2.4.

Donald as I recall the answer on the unwrappable plugs is that they are not fully compliant with the VST spec for one reason or another.

Yes u should be able to do that without probs although don't quote me on that the more I think about it...But it would seem to be not a prob; like I use the wrapper & VEPro, so same concept somewhat... as far as why som won't work, I've not experienced that but Mason pretty much seems to hav answered that 1...

Never thought of that. Will investigate that.
