Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
I use the Flying Calf A/D for the AMIII card and it works fine.
I don't think that the Flying "Bovine" stuff is top shelf, compared to Appogee and some others but my experience has been without problems. Regards |

Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
You might also consider the mindprint DI-port. I think its about the same as the flying cow box...
with this extra: it features 2 pre-amps, a headphone amp, and the possibilitie to mix the signal from the input with the signal from the d/a converters, thus providing a no-latency monitoring. It also has optical connectors. If you connect it optically, you will not be plagued by groundloops and stuff like that...

Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
The Mindprint device looks cool but its $250 more than the "Cow"...for that kind of money, I'd be tempted to upgrade to the Digi 001

Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
If you don't need the pre's the ART DI/0 might be worth looking at. I haven't heard one yet, but some of the "audiophyle" geeks are talking it up.
Do a search on "ART DI/O". Aphex is also coming out with a new unit this December that might be good. The ART retials @ around $200.00, the Aphex will be around a grand retail. Mindprint looks good, but where can you buy it stateside? By the way, I haven't "herd" the Cow either, but have seen some not so favorable reviews.... |

Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
i was talking about the DI-port, not the DI-pro. The DI-port is 249 euro's, and that will be equally the same in dollars. IMHO its the perfect addition to the amiii...

Flying Cow Opinions?
Good? Bad? Otherwise?
I'm considering M-Audio's Flying Cow AD/DA interface so as to make use of the second pair of inputs/outputs on my AudiomediaIII card. Anybody using this combo? Regards, James |

Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
I'm about 3 hours from picking up a DI port for $329.00 canadian dollars. Yet, everything is always cheaper in the US ($500?). Whats going on?
Anyway, I look forward to clearer sounding cymbals etc. Sean |

Re: Flying Cow Opinions?
The DI-port is german. Maybe that has something to do with it. I bought mine for 249 euro's, wich is roughly the same in dollars...and i live in the netherlands.
