hi - i'm seeing what appears to be several rather decent priced hd systems hit ebay...what is the difference (performance wise) between a pci and a pcie system

It would all depend on what slots your computer has. Our HD cards are pci (pcix), and they work just dandy, but our computer has 3 PCI slots, so we had to go with PCI.

The big performance difference isn't neccassarily between PCI and PCIe, it's between the HD Process and HD Accel cards (pci and pcie). The Accel cards have a significant amount more DSP power.
