Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
My rack is a similar depth, but it should be able to work using rack rail adapters. I currently have the Dolby Atmos RMU in the same rack, and it’s about 27” deep. I’m using a 5” adapter to make it fit. I’ll take a photo.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Ah, rack rail adapters may save the day if I want to use the supplied rack rails. If anyone on this thread receives a rack Mac Pro, would be great to know the minimum length of the rails.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
The Apple document says it needs to be installed in a rack that’s a minimum of 24 inches deep. That would mean that the rack rails have a minimum of 24 inches that they can collapse.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Although the Mac itself is only 21.24” inches. And the includes the front handles. So probably 20” or under.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Yes. I guess I was trying to wish them into being shorter than the specified 24” in real life, hah!

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Yeah, me too. But I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s not uncommon for a server to stick out the back. Use adapters.
Hopefully you have room behind the rack for it to stick out.

Thanks! Yeah, the adventure continues. I guess I could always use adapters at both the front and back if required. From the front rail to the very back wall I have 660mm (26") to play with – obviously, gotta plug those cables in too.

True, which is probably why the rails go 4” deeper than the mac itself. Cables, etc.

...and allow for air flow, it vents out at the back.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)
Doh. I was about to pull the trigger on a 16 core this week but the Sonnet M.2 4x4 is out of stock everywhere AFAIK with some dealers saying March delivery!
If anyone sees one in stock somewhere please PM me.
