Default Delay Compensation Bug using destructive punch?

I'm trying to determine if this is something with my setup or a legitimate bug and if others are experiencing it, and if so, if there is a 'workaround'.

I'm on 11.0.1 with the hardware in my sig. I have a session running at 96k with 2 VI's (SD2 for drums and perc). The other tracks (4 of them) have DSP plugs on them. I have 2 auxes for efx returns, with Reverberate on one and AVOX doubler on the other. They are both native plugs and the compensation is about 2500 samples. I'm using a 1024 size buffer. When I'm on input monitoring (green 'I') and playing or singing along (rehearsing) everything is in sync. When I arm the track (and take it out of input monitoring) any bars I have set in the 'pre play' box, say one or two bars, are way out of sync, so much so that it's very hard to get the timing right at the punch point, especially if it's in the middle of a phrase. However, as soon as the track goes into record the timing is correct, most probably because I am now on input. I can reduce this to almost imperceptible by lowering my buffer to 128, but it sends my cpu up very high, probably due to the 2 VI's and the native plugs at 96k.

This is concerning because I have only 4 other tracks than the VI's and they are all audio tracks.

I haven't tried using other destructive punch options, and I haven't tried removing the native plugs...my thinking is I shouldn't have to if the DC is working for them in all the other modes.

Try turning OFF Delay Compensation while you do your punches.

Thanks Albee. I tried that, but my auxes, with the native stuff, are far behind with DC off. I guess the moral of the story is don't use native stuff on the auxes until final mix, but that is when this comes up...When I've got to do some punches after the mix has begun...it happens all the time, and it's impossible to accomodate someone with comfort verb and such after they've been listening to one verb and then o'dubbing wth another.

I always get the 2 mixed up...I'm using Destructive Record (and punching in)... like the old analog tape machines.
