Controlling plugins via midi
I'm looking at getting an Akai MPK261 and I was wondering if I'd be able to control things like cut off frequency in a synth plugin from the Akai?
Is that something that's determined from plugin to plugin or does PT have the ability to map panning controls on the MPK261 to any given plugin's controls? I was thinking of using it with Arturia's Modular V plugin. |

Re: Controlling plugins via midi
Synth instruments yes, plugins no. As I painfully found out with my Nektar controller.

Re: Controlling plugins via midi
It's up to the plugin maker to add the functionality or not. In most cases, they do for Virtual Instruments, but not most general plugins.
However, most amp simulators do have the functionality, including Avid's own Eleven. Also certain ones that may lend themselves to Midi control of certain parameters. For example, Waves Morphoder and Metafilter, and Izotope's Nectar 2 harmony generator function. Also, pretty much all of Fabfilter's plugins have it. |
